Technology has created an extension of the physical reality for this person, his ability to now “hear” colour is a part of the way that technology is dominating a factor of his perception that is rather limited. I think it’s an interesting view on the implications of such a close relationship between our virtual and physical worlds. – cyborg culture –
I’ve attached a link below to a short story by the author Isaac Asimov who is a famous science fiction writer. I came across this a few years ago and I continue to reflect on it as it provides a very profound vision of our progression as a technological society and consciousness. I think this ties together a lot of the themes we have been exploring in class and wanted to share.
