Hello, beautiful people of UBC! Let’s begin…
My life is caught somewhere between never taking anything seriously and being the most competitive person I know. I’ve always had a dream in my mind and a plan to get there, UBC being one of those dreams. Last summer I packed my bags and stuffed them into my car to embark on a bit of a coming-of-age road trip to the West Coast. It felt surreal to drive through huge mountain ranges and then finally hit such a beautiful, cultured city: Vancouver. My friend Kiyo and I were amazed at the certain vibrant energy this city seemed to have as we walked Broadway, observing the stores and more importantly, the people. When we stumbled upon Kits Beach I couldn’t help but feel like this was home and I knew this is where I was destined to live.
When I arrived back in Edmonton, I adopted a new personal mantra: UBC or bust. I only applied to one university during grade 12 but in my heart I knew I wouldn’t let myself down. Then something magical happened.. I graduated!
Now I spend my days hooping it up at the Kits beach basketball courts, playing football for North Delta and writhing in excitation for my first classes at UBC. I am in the faculty of Arts and am planning on majoring in International Relations. This year my blog is going to be focused on not only the usual yada yada of my experiences at UBC (haha), but also on my ever changing personal philosophies, along with some controversial issues. The true purpose of my blog is going to be to not only entertain and inform but to shed a new light on interesting topics. You’ll see, don’t worry.
It’s going to be one hell of an eventful year and I’m glad you’re going to be here alongside with me. Let’s try and have some fun, ya?
