This vessel\u2019s coils can become a portal between the networked land and us. A three-channel video installation by Peter Morin traces a single line in the skin over and through becoming an embodied trail connecting ancestors and bodies of rivers and time. While in Justine Wood&#8217;s work a still image is a record of time spent with and on the land imbued with careful garments designed to honour and \u00a0harvest. All works reflect a commitment to deeply relational knowledges between people and territories that manifest in world making creative responses.<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/icqi.org\/indigenous-inquiries\/\">Indigenous Inquiries Circle (IIC) \u00a0<\/a>International Congress of Qualitative Inquiry (ICQI). May 13-17<\/h5>\n<p>This program features a collaboration with the Indigenous Art Intensive presenting two public talks Wed. May 14th (see Programs and Events) as well as a program for IIC members in partnership with the <a href=\"https:\/\/icer.ok.ubc.ca\">Institute of Community Engaged Research<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/enowkincentre.ca\">En&#8217;owkin Centre.<\/a>This program\u00a0draws on research supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<div><b><a href=\"https:\/\/troublemaking.org\/about-us\/\">Troubling Colonial Knowledge and Building Kinship Networks<\/a> May 28-31<\/b><\/div>\n<p>This symposium will bring together Risk-Takers and Trouble Makers from Indigenous and diverse BIPOC Ancestries to think, create, and dream alongside one another about the practice of troublemaking and how troubling knowledge helps the collective to transform. Artworks from Silverfox\u2019s National Gallery exhibition will be shown for the first time in Western Canada in Invisible Forces. June 11 to September 11, 2021<\/p>\n<p>Curated by Stacey Koosel<\/p>\n<p>Whess Harman\u2019s ongoing <em>Potlatch Punk <\/em>series explores broader themes of homage, memory, identity and more specifically celebrates Indigenous identity, resistance, visibility, and interrogations of wealth.<\/p>\n<p>As<em> Potlatch Punk <\/em>grew in demand, Whess Harman experienced the jackets taking on a life of their own, from requests to purchase, loan, exhibit and commissioning new works the role of the artist morphed from creator to caretaker.
