Dear InSEA 2019 Delegates

Thank You for a Wonderful InSEA 2019 World Congress!

Your participation, your presentations, your art making practices shared: collectively the sum of these parts created a synergy that we carry forward in our commitment to art education and arts based research around the world.  Making a difference through art!  We also express our gratitude to the InSEA 2019 World Congress Directors and Volunteers who worked hard to make our shared experiences memorable!

We want to take a moment to once again thank our incredible Keynote speakers, as well as the performers from the InSEA 2019 Opening and Closing Ceremonies.  Your words and performances centered not only the theme of InSEA 2019: How is making understood across all dimensions of art education in the 21st century?  – but also offered a profound contribution to the four sub-themes: Place, Indigenize, Identity and Experiment.

In addition, we are grateful for the contributions of UBC staff from the Museum of Anthropology, Faculty of Education and Department of Art History, Visual Art and Theory (AHVA), as well as Conferences and Accommodations, Food Services and Building Operations, the UBC Chan Center for the Performing Arts and the Frederic Wood Theatre.

We will begin the work to archive the InSEA 2019 World Congress and update the website accordingly.  Please don’t forget to complete the InSEA 2019 Post-World Congress Evaluation.  Well, that’s it for now.  If you have any questions or comments, please contact either of us.

We wish you safe travels, courage and joy in making and teaching art and, we look forward to meeting again!

Through Art,

Rita Irwin and Kit Grauer
