Apple’s iOS devices, like the iPad and iPhone, offer the use of FaceTime. FaceTime is video calling, similar to Skype but without the lagging, using a Wi-Fi connection. This feature is a benefit for users who communicate using sign language or lip reading.

The iPad offers Closed Captioning just like those as seen on television. The iPad supports the playback of closed captions, as well as open captions and subtitling. The captioning appears on the screen.

The iPad is compatible with numerous headsets, including those with Bluetooth audio technology.

The user has the option to adjust the audio on the iPad to mono audio. They are able to route both audio channels into both earbuds, enabling users to hear both channels in each ear.
