text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0Become\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\">knowledgeable<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 15px; color: #0000ff;\">How will the iPad improve student learning and assist students in achieving learning outcomes?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">What will be the major barriers to implementing the iPad and how can they be overcome?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\">Establish a clear purpose<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 15px; color: #0000ff;\">The purpose for using an iPad should be drawn from the curriculum rather than from the technology itself. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Set clear learning objectives and curricular goals before implementing the technology. \u00a0The iPad will merely provide an effective tool to assist students in achieving these curricular goals.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Engage Team Members<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 15px; color: #0000ff;\">The more support available, the easier it will be to implement the device<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Increase chances of success by communicating early, and often with all team members involved<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Phase 2: Preparing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\">Develop an Action Plan<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Include a manageable timeline outlining key milestones for implementation\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Locate resources for professional learning (for teachers and paraprofessionals)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Establish clear curricular learning goals for the student that will be assisted through the use of the iPad<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Establish acceptable use guidelines, procedures, and regulations that will accompany the priviledge of using the iPad<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Phase 3: Implementing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #339966;\">Arrange for Hardware<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #339966;\">Purchase or access a device and accessories<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 15px; color: #339966;\">Apple earphones are available that include a remote and microphone for ease of recording and playing audio without disrupting other students.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #339966;\">A durable protective case with built-in stand should also be considered. \u00a0(eg.
