The SaND group was founded by PhD Candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/linguistics.ubc.ca\/profile\/arian-shamei\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/linguistics.ubc.ca\/profile\/arian-shamei\/\">Arian Shamei<\/a>, who currently leads its research agenda under the supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/linguistics.ubc.ca\/profile\/bryan-gick\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/linguistics.ubc.ca\/profile\/bryan-gick\/\">Dr. Bryan Gick<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SaND Group investigates acoustic features that discriminate neurological disease, and the use of machine learning models for clinical detection <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\"><b>Selected Publications <\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Shamei, A., Liu, Y., &amp; Gick, B.
