Course Description

Information technology is a course designed for students to be introduced to basic skills in computer processing, photo manipulation, modeling and animation, computer programming, web design, and multimedia creation.  Students will develop a basic understanding of the different core focus areas, with the intention of pursuing one of the areas in a future senior level course.  In addition, students will be able to develop problem solving, design, collaboration and critical thinking skills as they apply their skills to real world scenarios.

Learning Objectives

Students will apply basic object-oriented programming skills to designing simple games by using block-based programming tools.

Students will use online tools to collaborate in real time while working on various course projects.

Students will evaluate the effects and ethics of photo manipulation in media on consumers, while developing basic editing skills.

Students will utilize the design process in creating 3D models and simple animations.

Students will critique the layouts of various websites and apply this learning to creating their own website.
