Outline for the Week:

Start off by watching the following lessons.  If you haven’t already seen the Scratch video on the Making Games page, please watch that before proceeding.

Lessons:

Lesson 1 – Intro to the Scratch Website

Lesson 2 – Scratch Editor Layout

Lesson 3 – Creating Characters and Backgrounds

Lesson 4 – Creating Movement

Lesson 5 – Creating Enemy Movement

Lesson 6 – Creating Collisions

Lesson 7 – Using Variables

Lesson 8 – Ending the Game

Activities:

Once you have completed the lessons, go to Edmodo, log into your account, and complete the short Quiz on the basics of Scratch and making an online game.  This quiz will help you assess your current understanding of Scratch and video game development.

Assessments:

After you have completed the quiz, you are ready to start making your first video game!  The outline for this assignment is available on the Assignments for Assessment page.  A reminder that this assignment will be due on February 8, 2017.
