Welcome to your unit working with Photoshop!

Throughout this unit you will be focusing on your main learning goal of understanding the basics of photo editing and photo manipulation through creating your own unique images.

By the end of this unit you will be able to answer the questions:

• What skills are required to edit images?

• In what ways does popular media use photo manipulation and do you think it is ethical?

You will know:

• How to use the basic tools of Photoshop.

• How to create and edit photos and text.

You will be able to:

• Combine multiple images together into a single image that looks realistic.

• Critique different forms of photo manipulation in media and understand how those changes are made.

The essential question that you will want to consider as you are progressing through this unit is:

• What are the skills in Photoshop that I need to know in order to effectively edit images?
