Due to the climate change and ocean acidification, the whitening and bleaching of coral reefs are intensified. Countries such as Mexico and Punta Nizuc, coral reefs are what they famous for. Every year, they coral reefs helps Mexico and Punta Nizuc attract hundreds and thousands of tourists and scuba divers to the countries. A large portion of countries GDP and income are generated from tourists. The degradation of coral reefs means lost in tourisms opportunities for some costal countries. Moreover, coral reefs not only attract visitors but also help in creating habitats for commercial fishes. Without coral reefs, small fishes will have place to hide, and fewer smaller fishes mean bigger fishes will starve and lead to decrease in annual catches.

Jason deCaires Taylor, a diving instructor who graduated from art school has recently picked up his art talent again and wish to use underwater art to save coral reefs. The underwater sculpture would act as a holding-point for coral larvae. All the sculptures are made of ocean degradable cement and so pose no harm to ocean and water quality. By having an underwater sculpture, divers would be able to see a better view when they go diving. And I personally see this is a great area that can be capitalized. It is a great area to having underwater advertisements. As for most scuba diving areas are located in vacation destinations, it ensures the exposure to a certain market segment, diving lover. Since diving is normally a vocational activity, which implicates people have high chance to be in good mood. This result in an optimal condition to place advertisements. In my opinions, green campaign, companies that promote ocean conservation or any environmental related ad. are all suitable for this location.

However, companies still need to be aware or stay alert about creating some negative association. For example a trapped fish or sea turtle is accentually landing on the sculptures. Also, companies need to make sure the materials they used is 100% ocean degradable, and they own build sculpture in the areas that is in need rather than removing existing coral reef.
