Hello and welcome to my blog!

A little bit about me…

My name is Jasleen Toor and I’m a 23-year-old student at the University of British Columbia. I’m currently a teacher candidate in the Bachelors of Arts in Education program for elementary teachers. Prior to UBC, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Simon Fraser University in October 2014.

For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to pursue a career in the educational field. Working with young children has been one of my passions and I have had many opportunities in the past to experience this! I hope to one day have my own classroom in which I can implement the various strategies and techniques that I have learnt throughout this educational process. My personal teaching philosophy is based off of utilizing my experiences in personalized learning and technology and in creating a safe and engaging environment for my students. I hope to create a space where personalized learning tailors pedagogy, curriculum and establish a learning environment in order to meet the different learning needs and aspirations of my students. My teaching journey is definitely going to be very interesting and a completely new learning experience for me!
