In conclusion, based on my research it appears that the location of a bus terminal is most ideal in areas associated with high population density such as central business districts. The bus route itself is most ideal when situated in areas that are residential, commercial and industrial. Thus, based on my MCE analysis considering population density and land use, and my isochrone map I was able to identify an area in the Newton community of Surrey (8567 120th Street) to be the location for the bus terminal. Upon conducting my least-cost path analysis considering costs assigned to different land uses, with residential as the most favoured I was then able to generate a bus route travelling from Surrey to New Westminister and across a large portion of Vancouver’s neighborhoods before arriving at UBC.
