A system of linear equations is basically two (or more) equations that have two (or more) variables that we are trying to solve simultaneously. In other words, we are looking for the values of the variables (if any) that will work in all of the equations in the system.
There are three basic approaches that we use in high school to solve systems of linear equations.
- Solving Linear Systems by Graphing
- Solving Linear Systems using Substitution
- Solving Linear Systems using Elimination (also called Addition method)
