Hello, and welcome to my blog that takes you through my Community Field Experience journey! I am Jeneva Manhas and I have fortunately been given the opportunity to attend the Artists For Kids program through the Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art.
Since I was a child, art has played a significant role in my life (from doodling flowers all over my binders…to sketching scenic views…to now painting on canvases and selling them). Artistic expression has allowed me to escape into my own realm, cope with the unexpected, and explore who I am as a person.
Over the ten week practicum, I had the opportunity to incorporate fun and engaging creative activities within my classroom. I encouraged my grade one’s to use their imagination, while emphasizing the importance of development benefits and intentiveness. Furthermore, I look forward to expanding my knowledge through this experience in order to further encourage my future students to express themselves and take risks in creating art.
