Biography

I am currently a Computer Science student at UBC through the BCS program. I previously studied Economics at UBC.

While I was in Economics, I did a Co-op term at RIM (now it’s called BlackBerry) and discovered my passion for Computer Science. Although I didn’t know any programming back then, but due to the nature of my job, I had to help engineers perform firmware upgrades by running some automated scripts. Through that experience, I got a chance to learn more about operating systems and some cool aspects of software engineering. After I came back to UBC, I took some electives in Computer Science. I was lucky to find that I really enjoyed those courses (despite the suffering that millions of compilation errors has caused me) and wanted to continue with more education in that field.

I hope to become a professional Software Engineer one day. I am very interested in web applications and social media (i.e. Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and hope to find a career making these wonderful software that can help the world be more connected. I believe Technical Writing is a huge component of software engineering, as my friends and fellow classmates have mentioned, API documentations and code documentations requires clear delivery of technical concepts. I hope to be a great writer and communicator in addition to being a good Software Engineer.
