I am fascinated by how our world operates, both naturally and socially. I’m an investigator and need to understand how things work. This is why I studied Geography because it combines knowledge of the physical and social aspects of where we live.
Learning GIS has complemented my basic instincts. I can dig my hands right into data, for a number of different contexts, to better understand and visualize a specific project. It is easy for errors to arise when doing analysis thus I have learned to be patient and pay close attention to details. The end result is worth it because I create a tangible product.
Understanding cartographic principles enriches my knowledge of geospatial analysis. Not only do I understand the importance of data ethics, but I can also visualize data in appropriate and creative ways.
I hope to apply these practical skills to inspect and understand the evolving changes in our world and continue to grow them with time.
