Three things I’ve learned from GIS

  • Scrutinized how to ethically and visually represent data and addressed that some classification systems will result in very different maps.
  • Bolstered my creative skills in a practical way by using ArcGIS to create maps with multiple data sets to represent pertinent issues such as housing affordability, natural hazards, and an environmental assessment.
  • Configured different data sets, such as spatially joining tabular data, to better illuminate social issues. For instance, improving bike lanes in the City of Vancouver.

My GIS certificate.
