Biography

My name is Jenelle Hansen. I amĀ in my fourth and final year at UBC majoring in Music. Growing up, I graduated with a Diploma of Fine Arts, and a Dogwood for my French Immersion graduation. Continuously surrounded by artistic classmates, this greatly influenced my interests in pursuing a career in the faculty of Music. Eager to graduate, it brings me sadness to leave studies that I have engrossed myself in, but excitement for the many new adventures to come.

Professionally, I have worked full time as a manager at the restaurant Original Joes and part time for a radio station called New Country 93.7 JrFM in Vancouver. Additionally, I have volunteered at numerous elementary schools to help complete a necessary requirement for the program I plan to enter in September.

During my spare time I enjoy all types of fitness. Growing up an avid dancer for 18 years this sparked my interests in health. Five times a week I workout in different ways such as running, yoga, weight lifting, swimming and hiking. Furthermore, my parents are strictly organic. This has aided my well being as their research and guidance surrounding food shaped my views simultaneously.

Accepted into a graduate studies program for Music Education, I look forward to the fall 2015 semester. I hope to meet individuals that share similar interests with me and further my prospective professional career in teaching. Enthusiastic to instruct young children, I am confident that I will be able to instruct them with as much positivity that I was given growing up.
