In Seth’s blog on advertising, he talks about how the media is playing an inseparable role in people’s lives and how the ads are driving the media. I strongly agree with his thoughts. In fact, as the number of consumers who use the Internet to search for informations rises, firms are more motivated to use their marketing budget on online advertising.
In my opinion, the reason why digital advertising is well-known among all firms is by doing so, the companies are utilizing the minimum amount of money to efficiently advertise in a broader range. People from different countries, speaking different languages, are able to search for the identical information on the internet. In addition, digital adverting surpass traditions advertising in efficiency.
Nevertheless, I think online advertising is considered as a double-edged sword. It can notably enhance the buyer-seller relationship, but if used improperly, it will generate mistrust. Intrusive advertisements mislead the users and distract them from their exploration.
Furthermore, due to the Internet’s openness, the deceptive advertisements created by those dishonest sellers are able to manipulate the customers in many ways. The more the consumers get tricked, the more doubtful they become, which can cause the corrupt cycle.
