“Last month, TD announced that it was expanding its presence in the region by adding more than 120 technology-focused jobs over the next year.”TD-bank-logo-Ratehub

TD (Toronto Dominion) Bank recently announced that they are implanting a notable change by shifting from their traditional banking to a more technology-focused future. As technology is rapidly developing, TD has decided to apply tech for the purpose of efficiently solving the problems for its customers. However, this alternation hurts the senior staff who are used to the traditional way and are not as knowledgeable as younger employees for using the computers.

I believe that a senior employee cut is expected because TD needs more of the younger, tech-enriched individuals that better accommodates this decision. Although the implementation of technology is crucial in the growth of modern businesses, it will also pose a problem for senior employees as their ability to adapt to technology is much weaker.

SustainabilityPillars

Not only does sustainability care about the company’s performance, but social, environmental, and economic aspects do matter. By definition, sustainability is about “taking what we need to live now, without jeopardizing the potential for people in the future to meet their needs.” I believe that if those senior workers lose their jobs, they will not be able to earn money and support their livings. Thus, I recommend TD bank to come up with a solution that simulataneously improves the company and takes care of their senior workers.
