In Jenny’s blog, she talks about how the Syrian refugees should be accepted into the workforce because most of them have a university degree, and their abilities to work will benefit the Canadian economy. I do agree that Canada should accept more people outside of the country into the workforce, but that is only acceptable under the condition that those people have to go through a thorough background check.
Although most of the Syrian refugees have a university degree, that does not mean that what has been taught in their region resonate with what has been taught in Canada. Aside from their education. if a large number of Syrian refugees are accepted into Canada, and they are willing to work for a lower price, this will drive the local workers out of the business, and therefore, increasing the unemployment rate in Canada.
Furthermore, the successful political campaign of Justin Trudeau, the leader of the Liberals, has assisted him to win the election in 2015 and become the new Prime Minister of Canada. This is a revolutionary change for this country because its leading party goes from Conversetive to Liberals. Justin Trudeau has declared to take in more than 25000 Syrian refugees in a short period of time along with many other promises. However, after the terrorist attack happened in Paris on November 13th, 2015, Canadians are terrified by the fact that there may be terrorists who are disguised as refugees and sneak into Canada.
