{"id":172,"date":"2014-07-02T01:58:46","date_gmt":"2014-07-02T08:58:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/jimubc\/?p=172"},"modified":"2015-04-26T01:59:24","modified_gmt":"2015-04-26T08:59:24","slug":"surface-pro-3-accessories-in-advance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/jimubc\/surface-pro-3-accessories-in-advance\/","title":{"rendered":"Surface Pro 3: Accessories in Advance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Surface Pro 3 won\u2019t be available in Canada until August 1 but in anticipation of that day, I\u2019ve already ordered and extra Surface Pro 3 Pen and Docking Station.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/liliputing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/surface-pen-680x561.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m really looking forward to running two monitors off the Surface Pro 3. I should be able to do that with the Docking Station. From what I can see, there\u2019s a mini-Display Port on the back of the Docking Station AND the mini-Display Port on the Surface 3 will still be accessible even when docked. It looks like you can daisy-chain TWO display port monitors from the docking station, but this takes two display port monitors. So I\u2019m happy to connect to two output ports.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the little things that count. Here\u2019s an example.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.gottabemobile.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/DSC01881.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a magnet on the left side of the Docking Station to hold the Pen. That\u2019s where the second pen will live. The other one will stay in the bag.
