The curriculum of textiles 8 taught beginner sewers on basic fabric construction where students applied those skills into eventually creating an apron as their final project. The course comprised of:

Assessment as, for, and of learning
-Sewing samples were marked and returned to students with feedback from the teacher.
-Upon completion of each step in the process of sewing the apron, students assigned themselves a mark and then had the teacher provide them with a mark. This type of formative assessment allowed the teacher to catch any mistakes before the student proceeded on with the next steps. At the end of the project, the completed apron was again marked as a form of summative assessment. The criteria for the apron:
