On my practicum, I inquired about:  How can I support struggling learners achieve the curriculum goals of Home Economics?

Support: structuring classes to maximize the engagement of the curriculum by incorporating three strategies: classroom motivator, multimodal lessons, and peer collaboration

Struggling learners: students who do not meet the curriculum goals of the course

Curriculum goals: guided by the 3 principles of learning:
1. Learning requires the active participation of the student
2. People learn in a variety of ways and at different rates
3. Learning is both an individual and a group process

(British Columbia Ministry of Education, Skills, and Training, 2007)

As a lifelong learner, I strive to continue on growing and improving in the following areas:

-How differentiated learning can take place in the classroom
-Building community in the classroom, school, and neighbourhood
-Developing a classroom website/ blog

My future goals:

-Diploma in Special Education
-Masters in Counselling Psychology
