As my career as a teacher begins, there are many things I can and will do to stay at the top of my game, and continue to grow as an educator and individual. A few of the most are listed below.

 

• Professional Development Days – I plan to use these opportunities to learn new methods and ideas surrounding education that I can implement into my classroom
• Conferences
• Taking opportunities to teach new subjects/try new things (staying fresh and avoiding burnout)
• Coaching and mentoring
• Getting involved in any and all extracurriculars

 

As I move forward, my growth plan involves teaching, most likely as a TTOC before acquiring a full-time position. From here, I hope to teach until I am qualified to make the jump into administration. I have always been interested in the business side of education, as my business background may suggest. This would allow me to spend more time coaching, while attempting to improve education as a whole through lobbying efforts and continued support for staff and students. Although I am just beginning, I very much look forward to my journey as a teacher, and by no means expect it to be linear. I look forward to many opportunities and curveballs being thrown my way!
