Time for Innovation in Canada

Posted by in Article Review

Unlike many countries around the world today, Canada is doing relatively well during these hard economic times. We have a stable, majority government, “sound finances, boundless resources, and an educated work force.”

With all these factors boosting our economy, it is causing some concern to see that Canada is not taking advantage of this opportunity to increase its innovation. Many innovative leaders in Canada want government support to start looking into infrastructure plans and widening trade, while generating projects that “create economic activity and jobs.” At the moment, the low productivity is hurting Canada’s growth and wealth.

By removing some of the government regulations that prevent companies from global competition, entrepreneurs and other corporations will have the chance to step forward and invest in research opportunities that develop new ideas to heighten Canada’s productivity and competitiveness. Perhaps others will be inspired to enter the scene and add their own ideas to help this country reach its full potential. It is time for Canada to shine, and join the ranks of other highly-innovative nations, such as the United States and Hong Kong, at a time when our economy is a bit stronger than most.
