Purification of Various Recombinant Proteins

  • Conducted numerous experiments to yield highly concentrated, soluble, monomeric proteins
  • Quantified and analyzed the quality of the proteins with methods such as SDS-PAGE and western blot analysis before sending them off to collaborators

Effects of Cold Stress and Oleic Acid Supplementation on mutated ER membrane protein MGA2

  • Composed an experiment to gather insight on the role of the unsaturated fatty acid’s effect on the overall growth of the protein under cold stress
  • Quantitatively measured the amount of unsaturated fatty acid present in cell membrane using fluorescent microscope and ImageJ program; Qualitatively evaluated the amount of growth present in sample treatments by observing colony formations of streaked cultures
