Enjoy!<\/p>\n The purpose of this assignment was to compose a parenthetical, a sentence, and an expanded definition of the term used in our field of study. I decided to define the word phenotype<\/em>. I enjoyed the challenge of writing multiple definitions with varying amount of details and catering to different intended readers. Enjoy reading my work!<\/p>\n 301 Jodie Ng – Definition of Phenotype<\/a><\/p>\n The primary objective of the formal report proposal was to practice writing techniques for composing proposals and formal reports. The secondary purpose of the proposal was to choose a problem we observed in a public setting (a workplace, a volunteer or community organization) and convey how we intended to investigate, analyze, and recommend action on that problem. My formal report deals with the issues of raising awareness on the prominent health-related problems of purebred dogs due to how we have bred them over time. Please be aware that it’s a very controversial topic and understand that this report is not looking at the care provided by different breeders after the puppies are born, but the actual selection and mating of dogs.<\/p>\n 301 Jodie Ng – Formal Report Proposal<\/a><\/p>\n This was an exercise on writing a complaint letter based on a real life experience and its hypothetical response. The purpose of this assignment was to practice conveying bad news and how to properly respond in a respectful manner to a disgruntled customer. This assignment allowed us to practice using “You-Attitude” writing techniques to professionally and communicate effectively. \u00a0My work highlights the importance of maintaining a professional tone that remained neutral and non-threatening to achieve the desired result. It focuses on conveying the person’s strengths and making suggestions on areas in need of revision, spelling and grammatical errors.
