Thoughts on Geob 270 and the final project

Our team work on a study that focused on visualizing mosquito habitat on a map based on aquatic and terrestrial requirements.  Our team was comprised of three people (including me).  I was responsible for data collection and mapping, and my team members were responsible for mapping and the final data and visual analyses.  This experience brought up that communication within our team was key to our success.  Some neat finds were that potential mosquito habitats could be found anywhere with few requirements.  But preferred habitats were subject to a few locations that contained both habitat requirements (aquatic and terrestrial).  Some new techniques learned were layer masking between a raster and a vector polygon layer.  An issue with the data was that the public datasets usually come incomplete, hence they are free.
