Vancity ethics

This past summer I had a job interview for Vancity, a bank based out of Vancouver, British Columbia. Before this interview I was told to know the ethics and personality of “Vancity”. The interview consisted of the employers asking me about Vancity’s ethics and how they treat the community. What I personally found that Vancity resembles, is the ideal stakeholder mentality, where they do not treat their consumers as mindless assets. They are a company where people, groups and or organizations which have interest or concern in the company are a priority. Uniquely, Vancity does not consist of stockholders, which allows them to focus on these priorities. Being a role model for other banks I found that “Vancity showcases the worldwide sustainable banking movement by hosting the Global Alliance for Banking on Values”. This opportunity allows this company to flourish and exemplify a good strong persona of its company to the world. “ vancity.gamechangers500.com” allows readers to see the progressions that Vancity went through over the past fifty years to become the company it is today. I found that the pathway which I saw vancity take was not only ethical but a progressive business. Truly, Gamechangers500 posted about Vancity because they are “committed to incorporating social, economic and ecological benefits” to its consumers which is ideal in a company’s mentality.
