My name is Josh Ballem and I am a Learning Solutions Manager with Pearson Canada. I live in Halifax, NS with my wife and two little girls under 5, so life is quite hectic!!
This is my sixth MET course, which is hard to believe as I feel like I just started!! The first five courses have been great, and I am really looking forward to this course. I have found the MET courses have positively influenced my work with Pearson, where I work with faculty and students at post-secondary institutions in Atlantic Canada. I assist in the integration of our digital products into their courses and curriculum. Many of our products integrate directly with the school’s LMS, so I am looking forward to working a little closer with a few examples.
I look forward to working with everyone and learning from the many teachers in the program. Although my professional life is focused on higher education, my oldest daughter had her school orientation today and starts grade primary (kindergarten) in the fall…so I have a newfound interest in elementary school!! She is so excited to start learning…I’m just not sure Dad is ready for her to grow up!!
