My name is Josh Evans.
- I am an athlete and avid outdoor enthusiast
- I love learning and teaching in a variety of contexts

I grew up playing competitive team sports including ice hockey, lacrosse and volleyball. I currently enjoy cycling, running and swimming and value being physically active and maintaining a healthy diet.
I developed a passion for teaching when I got involved coaching elite minor hockey and running hockey development summer camps.
I enjoy exploring new cultures: I backpacked through Central America discovering the rich cultural traditions of the Mayan people. I lived and taught at at BC school in Cairo, Egypt during the 2014-2015 school year. I explored rich cultural heritage sites like the Pyramids and the Valley of the Kings and taught predominantly Arabic speaking students. During the 2015-2016 school year I taught at G.A.D. Elementary School, an Independent school in Surrey catering to the Sikh community. I have experienced many unique cultural traditions and am constantly learning from my students and their cultural experiences.
I am a flexible learner having experienced formative education in Ontario, Alberta, BC and the United States.
I would consider myself a lifelong learner. I am passionate about education and committed to critically thinking and engaging with ideas.
