My name is Joao Pedro Neves I am a fourth year student currently pursuing my Bachelor of arts degree in Economics. I was born in Brazil, but decided to move to Canada in order to pursue a higher education because i think it will better prepare me for my career goals. Before moving here I studied Engineering for one year, but decided it was not for me. I did my first year of University at UBCO in Kelowna and then transferred to the UBC main campus in Vancouver. My main objective is to become an investment banker and I feel UBC has broaden my perspectives in a way that will make it easier to achieve my goal. At the same time I am also a spanish minor, I began taking spanish because it was an easy elective, but ended up falling in love with the language. I chose spanish over other languages because i believe that by knowing english and spanish i will be able to communicate nearly anywhere in the world without much problem.
After my graduation I plan on getting an international experience in my field in order to see how the professional life is abroad. I then plan to move back to Brazil and apply everything that I’ve learned and hopefully influence positively on the countries economic culture.
