What I liked about this picture was specifically the lighting it had. This picture was taken at dawn, when the sunshine is mostly horizontal, and unusual shapes of shadows are formed.
This picture also has an ambiguous narrative in presence given by the individual’s face. Questions rise asking “Is he depressed?”, “Is he waiting for someone?”, “Why is he so lonely in such a big table?”, and “Why is the chai in from of him pulled back, as if someone was sitting there before?”. The lighting also pays a key role in this picture because it does not allow the expression of the individual’s face to be noticed (even though half of his face is captured by the camera).
