“If the United Nations was fully funded why would we need the Arc or social enterprise?”
When posed with this question, my first response was to say that we wouldn’t need Arc or social enterprise. With the UN fully funded it would be able to start every project that they wanted to, and it’d be able to finally get around to visiting all the countries that needed help.
Unfortunately, even with every project at the UN being funded, there are other constraints itĀ faces, namely, people. The UN simply does not have the numbers to sustain all the projects it’s presented with, which is where Arc and social enterprise come in.
The Arc Initiative and social enterprise allow people from all over the world help those in developing countries improve their standards of living. By exchanging knowledge, social entrepreneurs are able to solve problems previously thought to be unsolvable. Social entrepreneurs can be anyone, which means they will make positive social change in the places that they are interested in. With social entrepreneurs coming from all over the world, they can cover a lot more issues than the UN.
In my opinion, there will always be need for social entrepreneurs and initiatives like Arc. The more people making positive changes in this world, the better.
