From Android to Apple

According to this Bloomberg article, the release of the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will result in a jump in sales for Apple. Many of the buyers will be previous iPhone users, but a surprising amount of people are making the jump from the Android operating system to iOS this fall, and companies are already beginning to feel the effects.

Samsung’s latest phone, the Galaxy Note Edge, features a screen that curves around the side of the phone.

Samsung, has already reported slowing sales and has seen their global market share drop 8% in the past year. It was also reported that the company did not hit the sales numbers that analysts had estimated. However, I think that the decline in sales of their products will help motivate Samsung to push their limits and create phones that can easily counter Apple products. They’ve already put out the innovative Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, a phone that sees the screen wrap around the side of the phone. Samsung also has a price advantage over Apple; Samsung phones are considerably cheaper than an iPhone.

With more and more people converting from Android to Apple, Samsung will need to ensure they take the right paths to ensure that their products sell, their liabilities don’t grow, and their newest phones can be better, faster, and more innovative than the iPhone 6.
