here’s an ad that got my attention~

A boy plays succer find himself need a partern. So he goes home and cooks a lovely dinner for his parents and then goes to bed early. After ten month, he visits his new born brother proudly with a pair of succer shoes. And then he takes out the “Stratos” candy bar and enjoys it in that “better” moment. The commercial then ended with a picture of “Stratos” candy bar and “makes good better”.

The boy could have played football alone, but he want better- a partner; he could have just cooked the meal, but he want better- switched off her parents’ room’s light; he could have found a friend to play with him, but he want better- a brother.

It may also be a hint of  what “Stratos” company value: think fun, think better, think future.

This ad is delicious, creative, and lovely.

Such a farseeing cute boy!~

Pepsi vs Coke- depreciating competitor

YouTube Preview Image

So I saw this ad few years ago, and I was suprised by how Pepsi detracted its big competitor-Coke Cola: a kid buys two cans of Coke Cola (just when Coke’s marketing director was laughing), he then steps on the two cans of Coke and presses the highest button of pepsi; the boy then leaves the audience in silence…

I felt bad about a company doing things like this to depreciate its competitor, good marketing advertisement should be looking for a unique way to promote its product, not by hurting its competitor. In a world like this, we should now think of win-win.

This ad was later banned.

Mad Man – where the truth lies

Mad Men:

A term coined in the late 1950s to describe the advertising executives of Madison Avenue.

They coined it.

I justed started this TV series about marketing and life. The time in between the sales era and marketing era, when the idea of advertising and manipulation is booming, yet the age is changeable. It gives me a bit intel on how it was like for the early marketing. Things gets complicated if u start manipulating ur life and treat it like marketing business. Plus! a great combination of entertainment and school~love it~

A little more about the show:

Set in 1960s New York, the sexy, stylized and provocative AMC drama Mad Men follows the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising, an ego-driven world where key players make an art of the sell.

The series revolves around the conflicted world of Don Draper, the biggest ad man in the business, and his colleagues at the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce Advertising Agency. As Don makes the plays in the boardroom and the bedroom, he struggles to stay a step ahead of the rapidly changing times and the young executives nipping at his heels. The series also depicts authentically the roles of men and women in this era while exploring the true human nature beneath the guise of 1960s traditional family values.
