I attended this workshop by UGO on Oct 22nd. There were four speakers from Cossette Communication-Marketing, A&W Canada, TNS Marketing Research, and ACL Service Ltd. Each speaker talked about their career in marketing just to give us some ideas on how we should expect and what we could do in order to work in the industroy.

Cossette provides a wide range of communications services such as advertising, customer relationship management, social marketing and so on. The speaker from Cossette talked about her career in marketing and listed some characters one have to have:
1. Be Passion! (one have to looooove marketing and commit to success)
2. Be Open! (look @ the world, learn skills)
3. Build Credibility!
4. Have Courage!
5. Think Like a Fish!! (if u wanna catch fish~)
6. Be Original!!
7. Brands! Brands! Brands! (How does one brand himself/herself? No one resist engaging people)
and also it’s all about people!!

From a firm’s marketing department point of view, the speaker from A&W food company introduced 3 key factors A&W focuses on:
1. Strategy (they continuously rewirte and improve their strategies)
2. Climate (may known as “company value” in other firms; that’s A&W people’s agreement on how they work together)
3. Brand (What your name means to others and so on)
The speaker used to be an accountant but later ends up with marketing, he said:” Do your best @ where you are, and doors will open!” ![]()
TNS is a marketing research company. The career options in TNS is devided into Quantitive Vs. Qualitative, Client side Vs. Supplier Side. Quantitive is responsible for all the numbers where Qualitative is in charge of the content. Good marketing research always requires one to see through datas. One have to be inquisitive, enjoy working with #s, have good time & project management skill, have to have strong writing skills and the abilitity to sell.
ACL offers different solution programes to accounting firms and departments. The speaker is from its marketing department and here r some key notes:
