Exploring Current Issues in Elementary Mathematics Education
For my inquiry into practising Aboriginal Perspectives in a classroom, I wanted to explore how this would be seen in a particular subject. I decided to focus on mathematics because this is a subject area that a lot of children struggle with. I researched and read scholarly journals on some of the issues surrounding the teaching and learning of the cultural contexts in mathematics at the elementary school level. I investigated the connection between theory and practice and expanded my learning on Aboriginal Perspectives.
