Tour Bus
In GCCP class, We had special class on May 17th. McKay Wood, Big Bus company’s general manager, told about his business. Big bus is tour company to taking bus in Vancouver. After his saying, We got on the Big bus and we went to English bay, Stanley park, China town, Granville Island, China town and Gas town. It was a good experience. I would like to compare Big bus and Seoul city tour bus which is Korean tour bus business.

Differences
- Pass costs : Each bus’s circulation time, operation hours, bus stops is similar, but each cost is different. Big bus cost is CAD 40 for 1 day for an adult, Seoul City Tour Bus is KRW 10,000 (about CAD 9) for 1 day for an adult. Big bus has 2 days pass, also it costs CAD 45 for an adult.
- Night course : Seoul City Tour Bus has Night course. Its operating hour is 8pm and this course is only 1 time per 1 day. This tour is for night sight seeing. However, big bus doesn’t have special course.
- Guide: In Big bus, the bus driver is a guide. He explains about each place while he drives. I really knew about Stanley Park’s information, however I couldn’t listen well, because the microphone had a lot of static, also when I sat on backside seat, I couldn’t listen well because of static and wind. I think though that was even Korean, I would not understand well. In Seoul City Tour Bus, it has international personal audio system and LCD monitors to find information for each seat. The audio system supplies Korean, English, Japanes and Chinese. Also, each bus has a translator for foreigners.

Aquarium
I was so excited. Actually, I’ve never thought that I can go to Vancouver aquarium, but I went there thanks to my program. Firstly, we listened about Vancouver aquarium staff work, and then we looked around there by ourselves. I would like to compare Vancouver aquarium with Coex aquarium.
Similarities
- Membership: Both have membership. Vancouver aquarium membership types are available to best suit customers individual needs. The customers can also choose between one and two year memberships for convenience. Each price differs type to type. Coex aquarium membership type is one. It is an annual pass and adult,teens and infant price are same. The customers can get benefit which is 10% off all gift shop merchandise.
- Space for Kids: Both have space for kids. They put playground water tank designed for kids to play and explorer.
Differences
- Ticket costs : Vancouver aquarium divide winter season and summer season, and each ticket cost is different. Winter adult cost is CAD 21, and summer adult cost is CAD 27. It’s free for child 3 and under. In Coex aquarium, each cost differs by age. Adult cost is KRW 17,500 (CAD 15). Infants under 4 (47 months of age and less)can get free admission. They also have discout policy for disabled people.
- Shows: Vancouver aquarium has more various shows. There are Dolphin show, Beluga show, and 4D experience also feeding show. Coex aquarium has many type of feeding shows such as seals, dolphins, and so on.
- Members of the staff: Both have staff members, but their roles are little different. Firstly, Vancouver members stand in front of each exhibition, and they explain about the animals, also they can ask or contact with each others to use two-way radio; so each member is an expert in their field. However, Coex members also stand in front of the exhibition. If we need a help, we can ask them, and they know general information about the aquarium.

Pizza Hut
I went to Pizza Hut in main street to compare Canadian Pizza Hut with Korean one. I was shocked because the restaurant atmosphere was totally different. I thought that because they are same company I already knew that Korean restaurant’s service is awesome, but I realized it once again.
Similarities
- Delivery service to use Hot pouch: Hot pouch is once heated, and it keeps maximum 100℃ during 40mins. So, customers can have the pizza in the home warmly. Delivery service is a big deal for Canadian Pizza hut, because there are lots of pizza store in Canada, and no one does deliver. However, in Korea, most restaurants do delivery service. This service is common in Korea.
- Characteristic Pizza: Canadian Pizza hut has “Canadian pizza”, also Korean Pizza hut has “Korean BBQ pizza”. Both are developed pizza for each country’s customer, because avorite tastes differ from country to country.
Differences
- Restaurant atmosphere: Canadian Pizza hut atmosphere is simple. There are few tables and some chairs. Taking out customers are much more than dining-in people. They usually have the pizza alone. By contrast, Korean Pizza hut is bigger and more fancy compared to Canadian one. Some Korean branches show their process to make the pizza in the restaurant. Customers usually dine in the restaurant with their friends or families. It’s hard to look for people who eat the pizza alone.
- Member.s of the staff: There are only cashiers in Canadian Pizza hut. Their roles are calurating customer’s bills and calling cutomers when their order comes out. However, In Korean Pizza hut, there are few cashiers, servers, and managers. They show customers to the seats, and explain about discount service if customers want, also serve the pizza, or refill the beverages.
- Sale units: Both the pizza sale units are Small, Medium and Large, but Canadian Pizza hut also sells a peace of pizza. I think the reason why the personal customers are a lot.
