Inventory of Multimedia
IMAGES
Purpose: There are two main purposes of the images used. The first is to create visual interest for the learner who is enrolled on the course. The second is to use images to instill a sense of pride in the learner’s organization.
Source: The source for all of these images is my employer, CAA South Central Ontario (CAA SCO).
Copyright: Permission to use these images were granted by my employer, with the understanding that the images are to be used exclusively for the purposes of this educational assignment and for no other means such as marketing.
Associated Costs: No costs were associated with the images.
Technologies required to prepare LMS Site: No technologies were required to prepare the LMS site for the images.
Estimated time to create or prepare: Roughly 5 hours in total. An approximate breakdown of the time is as follows. 30 minutes to request permission for use with my employer. 3 hours to navigate company resources to locate appropriate photos. 15 minutes to advise my organization of which images I planned to use. 30 minutes to load them onto the LMS. 15 minutes to play with the pictures to alter the size of images.

AUDIO
Purpose: The recording was included to welcome the learners to the course. It was to add a human element to the course, by including a voice.

Associated Costs: I had to buy a multimedia headset with microphone, the cost was $40.00.
Technologies required to prepare LMS Site: Audacity was free.
Estimated time to create or prepare: 30 minutes, which includes downloading time of audacity, time to record, re-record and re-record my voice, and the time to load it onto the LMS

VIDEOS
Purpose: To provide a visual summary of the products and services offered by CAA SCO. It is to be used in the final module, which is a wrap-up of everything learned. This video ties together the previous modules together. It is meant to instill in employees a sense of pride and excitement, as well as the feeling that our members need to be aware of our products and service and to promote these.

Associated Costs: No costs were associated with the linking to the video. The program used to create the digital story, Windows Movie Maker, was already installed on my home and work computer.
Technologies required to prepare LMS Site: No technologies were required to prepare the LMS site for the website.
Estimated time to create or prepare: Moodle upload is limited to 8MB. As the digital story I created was over this size, I had to divide my video into parts in order to have it load onto Moodle. The digital story is approximately 3 ½ minutes long in total and has been broken down into 3 parts. The separating of the video into 3 parts took about 1 hour in total.

Purpose: To familiarize new employees taking the course with the company’s website and to encourage navigation of the site.
