head

I’ve organized my blog according to Sipos et al.’s paper “Achieving transformative sustainability learning: engaging head, hands and heart” (2008). This holistic approach essentially points to activating cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains in sustainability education. This section describes the cognitive processes (i.e. ideas, inquiry, concepts, and information about my journey through my EfS program).

world·view

wərldˈvyo͞o/noun
a particular philosophy of life or conception of the world.

Ideas influence actions, and actions turn into habits. I believe that the tendencies of a society is largely determined by its community’s habits. Positive social change can only occur if the collective mindset changes, in turn disrupting bad habits. Thus, ideas and thoughts are very important. I would argue that each society is built on key narratives that are guided by the most ‘powerful’ ideologies; I am hoping that we can shift our global narrative towards a more holistic one that acknowledges and appreciates all life.
