The History of Communication: From Cave Drawings to Blogging

As an educator who has used weblogs in the past as part of a digital literature circle, I was intrigued to research the history of blogging, and the way people have communicated their thoughts and ideas before the invention of the computer. I worked with Justin Wu on this project, and we chose to use iMovie because of the ability to include videos, photos, text, and audio. The iMovie took longer then expected, as we spent countless hours timing voice recordings to media. We also found that our research took us in many different directions, as communication is a broad topic. We had to focus on narrowing our research to reflect the way blogs are utilized, and how communicating our thoughts and ideas have evolved over time.
