What’s on the outside matters…

Away in which company can start making sustainable decisions is by looking into their supply chain and lifecycle of their product, in order to analyze the amount of carbon footprint each stage requires. One sector that is very upsetting and at times very unnecessary is the packaging in which products come in. The amount of plastic and stickers used to “protect” products at times can be outrageous. A primary example of this when ordering something online and receiving a massive box for a product that could have fit in a box size half its size.

In a study done by BilluerdKornsäs, an amazing company that I will get into later, asked a group of people if they were willing to pay a little more for sustainable packaging. With a 72% responding positively, it is very evident that people are willing to change their consumer behaviors for the betterment of the environment (Heinke, 2019). In another study, it showed that the sustainable packaging market was worth around $250 million in 2017, with an estimated growth of $400 million by the year 2024 (Heinke, 2019).  Having this in mind it would be a smart move to look into a market share like this. Well, that is exactly what BilluerdKornsäs did…

BilluerdKornsäs is a company that focuses on the sustainable packaging market material, providing customers with a solution to increase their profitability as well as improving their overall environmental impact.  Offering packing material and solutions to industries in food & beverage, industrial, consumer & luxury, along with medical & hygiene. Their sustainable material comes from a primary fiber- based renewable material that is pure, strong light and 100% recyclable. Their products include sack paper, cardboard, paper bags, formable paper and many more. Their second service offered is called Smarter Packing Services. Basically, it provides innovating packaging solutions with high performance which in the end reduces waste, increase consumer loyalty and creates value to a sustainable customer.

This company really shocked me with its ideas and solutions to a very present and concerning issue. They can literally change the way things are done, or at least influence others to do better.
