A&W revolutionized the fast food industry when they released the Beyond Meat Burger at their Canadian locations from coast to coast last summer and on March 11th, 2019 they added a new item to their menu: The English Muffin Beyond Meat Sausage & Egger.

The efforts of A&W to incorporate plant-based options on their menus has been tremendously impactful in the fast food industry.  Finally, people have the option to get fast and healthy alternatives to meat, which was unheard of and unwelcomed in traditional fast food markets. But the fact that A&W recognizes the need for change and for healthier alternatives to meat supports the recent trend to reduce meat consumption.

A&W changing their menu to incorporate plant-based options is an important event because now it challenges other fast food competitors such as McDonalds, Wendy’s and Burger King to do the same. Which will make healthier options for people and the environment more socially accepted, more available and will help spread awareness of the convenience and deliciousness of eating plant based meals.
