About Me

Hello! My name is Kashish Garg and I am currently a 4th-year biology student planning to graduate this May. I was born and raised in a small town on Vancouver Island called Campbell River. After high school, my family moved to the lower mainland area and I started my biology degree at UBC.

I initially decided to study biology because I was interested in becoming a pharmacist, but in my 3rd year I took introductory computer science courses and developed a great interest in the field. I really enjoyed the problem solving nature of the courses and had a lot of fun coding in python. Therefore, my professional goals have shifted to becoming a software developer in the future, and more specifically to be a developer in fields that combine computer science with biology such as biotechnology or bioinformatics. For these reasons, I am hoping to continue my education at UBC after my graduation by entering UBC’s second degree Bachelor of Computer Science program (BCS).
