Application Package for the BCS Program
BCS Web Pages
UBC’s Bachelor of Computer Science degree (BCS) is a 20-month, second-degree computer science program. BCS is aimed towards students that are transitioning their careers to information technology or wish combine their own field with computer science. The application process is focused on four broad criteria: Suitability of academic background, realistic plan for success, motivation for the program, and contribution towards community.
Cover Letter
By detailing my motivation for the program, academic background, and community engagement experiences, my cover letter describes why I would be a good fit for the BCS program.
Resume
The resume section provides a summary of my computer science and community engagement experiences, along with my education and employment history.
Reference Request Letters
In this section, I provide three letters requesting references from my former computer science professors. I also request that my reference is centered around my effort, interest for computer science, and their assessment of my performance in their respective courses.
