Lab 2: Coordinate Systems and Spatial Data Models

For general audience, describe how to fix misaligned and improperly referenced spatial data, including taking into consideration project properties.

In order to fix misaligned and improperly reference spatial data, you are always able to realign the spatial data through the tool of ArcTool box. With the ArcTool Box tool on ArcGIS, a transformation command is present, which allows one to modify the coordinate system of the maps and spatial data. There are various coordinate systems present for one to school in order to fix the misaligned spatial data, primarily between the projected coordinate system and the geographic coordinate system. Although the layers/coordinate changes will not change the overall projection of the image, but it will fix the misaligned and improperly referenced spatial data done

Review your answer to question 10 and discuss the advantages to using remotely sensed Lansat Data for geographic analysis

Advantages in using remotely sensed Landsat data for geographic analysis is that it provides a satellite imagery of the world. With Landsat sensors, they are able to take note of blue, green and red visible spectrums, and then record information digitally, download it and process/store it as data archives. By using Landsat data, it allows one to determine different geographical scenarios, such as the change in land usage in a metro city or the depletion of glacier in the northern poles. For example, one can study the depletion of glacier in the northern poles since a certain time period of global warming. By studying the amount of total glacier reduction that has been reduced in the northern poles, we are able to used Landsat to determine the difference, with a time interval of scans every month. Since it would be a study of glacier reduction, the Landsat data can present different layers of change made to the icebergs in the poles.
