Blog Post# 7 – Response to Mark Susters Blog

Mark Suster’s piece investigates the increasingly common belief that Los Angeles is now booming with Start-up businesses and entrepreneurship. He illustrates, with the aid of statistics, the large size of the “tech ecosystem” in LA and how the Los Angeles population is saturated with entrepreneurs as well as graduate engineers. All of these factors play a pivotal role in innovation and entrepreneurship.

In my opinion this wealth of technology and enhanced growth of tech based startups in Los Angeles can give way to disruptive innovation. The new innovators could come up with unique ideas that provide the same form of technology at a more affordable price while the already stable powerhouses charge significantly higher prices. Technology is the future and therefore the more a population is exposed to it, the higher the potential for ground-breaking innovations to be made. This is an interesting situation to me as I would like to see whether this enhanced level of technology attracts even more individuals to enter the market in Los Angeles and see if that impacts the business world.
